When to visit Oceanogràfic Valencia

The calmest time to visit Oceanogràfic Valencia is January, when the crowd typically sits around 38/100. The busiest stretch is August. Hour to hour, the quietest window is usually 10:00 AM.

The Oceanogràfic is the aquarium of the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. Its hours change by date: the official calendar shows 10:00 to 18:00 on most days, a later close on some days (19:00 or 20:00 in the months currently published), shorter days on 24 and 31 December and a 12:00 start on 25 December and 1 January. The calendar legend also lists days that close at 21:00 and 22:00, so check the date you choose. When you buy a ticket you pick an access time, and the FAQ says you can enter from that time and stay until closing. The official site puts a visit at three to four hours.

The curve follows Valencia's: August is the busiest month and January the calmest. March also rises sharply, which matches the Fallas, a festival that Visit Valencia, the city's tourism site, places in March (its 2026 programme runs to 19 March). For an off-peak visit, the quietest months are January, November and February, on a weekday and in the first slot.

How to visit Oceanogràfic Valencia with fewer people

  • Choose the access time carefully when you buy: "from" means you can enter from that time and not earlier, and you can stay until closing.
  • Leave a margin at the end of the day: the tickets page says the box office closes one hour before the aquarium closes, and the FAQ says entry is possible until half an hour before closing.
  • Food cannot be brought in, swimwear or a bare torso is not allowed, and the FAQ recommends arriving half an hour before the dolphin presentations to get a seat.
