When to visit the Arc de Triomphe

The calmest time to visit the Arc de Triomphe is February, when the crowd typically sits around 44/100. The busiest stretch is July. Hour to hour, the quietest window is usually 10:00 PM.

The Arc de Triomphe is open from Wednesday to Monday from 10:00 to 23:00 between 1 April and 30 September and to 22:30 between 1 October and 31 March; on Tuesdays it opens at 11:00. Last admission is 45 minutes before closing, and access to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is free. The ticket covers the whole monument and its terrace. Since late July 2026 the way up is by the stairs only, 284 steps, because the lift is out of service for maintenance; the official page says the date it returns in 2027 will be announced later.

The yearly curve follows Paris: July is the busiest month and February the calmest. In the model, the monument is calmest in its opening hour and builds towards the afternoon; because it stays open into the evening there is also a late slot, and the afternoons of July are the ones to avoid.
